I am confused. I feel like i have mild autism .

These are the things that make me feel that:

1) Lack of social skills

2)Difficult processing emotions

3)Absolutely hating change in routine and much more which i am too lazy to type.

@meowcat1216I want to assure you that it's perfectly okay to feel confused or to have concerns about your well-being. It's a positive step to reflect on your feelings and potential challenges. If you suspect that you might have mild autism, it's important to remember that seeking a professional assessment is a valuable path to clarity. Understanding yourself better and getting the right support can make a significant difference in your life. You are not alone in this journey, and many people find comfort and answers through diagnosis and support. Whatever the outcome, know that you are unique and valuable just as you are. 🌟❤️

@meowcat1216 it could be autism but dont have to. The word "autism" comes from a greek word meaning "self". Thats because an autistic person lacks the ability to "connect" with others and lives mostly in his/her own world of fantasy and thinking. Would you say you have your own inner world thats more important than the "real" world? Do you prefer to do things alone rather than cooperate? Have you always felt you are different than other people in your age? If yes than you could have autism.

Its perfectly normal for kids and youth to want security and stability. Changes in routines and environment can make any young (and to some degree even adults) person feel unsecure and uncertain. Not knowing whats going to happen next, not be able to predict whats coming, can make even normal healthy people uncomfortable or upset. Autistic people are just more sensitive to this. If you have had a dog, or know someone who has, then maybe you have noticed how nervous they can become if they and their owners move to another house/appartment, or if they often have to be with different people because the owners work or something.

@navyAcai7124 Yes I remember having my own fantasy world since a really young age . Where I would get immersed deeply multiple times in a day , where I did various things with my imagination . Yes I have my own world . I keep zoning out and being there . Yes I always prefer to do things alone . I don't like to cooperate with others. Yes I have always(from a young age) felt different from the people my age where I would get together with older people more easily and I would always feel like I have the brain of adults which is different from the brain of other people in my age.

Yes , in another post I have mentioned how I lack the ability to connect to others . I feel isolated and different from others.

Overall I feel I have my own world and that I might have autism . Yet I realize that my fantasy world isn't more important from the real world . Though I escape into that world sometimes when I feel overwhelmed.

@meowcat1216 it certainly sounds like you are autistic. The important thing then is to accept being different. And to try find a way to live with your autism rather than fighting it. It does make life more challenging yes, and its not at all easy. But it also bring you opportunities and gifts "normal" people dont have, like independence in mind and thinking, pattern recognition skills, intelligence, the ability to think deep and outside the box. Being independent and free from other peoples opinions means autistic people are generally more authentic/more themselves rather than acting/playing a roll, which "normal people" usually do. And in opposite to what people think, autistic people have generally closer relationships, a higher quality of their relationships. When you do have friends you are probably very close to eachother.

There are numerous examples of autistic people who is successfull, financially successfull or life-successfull - living the life you want to live and being happy.
Of course its not easy, and it may take some time before you "are there", but its possible and even the journey to there can be fun. Start by finding out your interests and passions. Dream as if anything is possible. And try to accept being autistic, try to like yourself, you are just as valuable and needed as any "normal" person.

@meowcat1216

Hey, may I ask what your concerns are about the possibility of being autistic? I understand that it could bring with it pros and cons (eg understanding)

Your struggles are valid no matter what 💜🍄

I have my concerns that sometimes when people call me when (even repeatedly) they don't seem to get my attention. It's like I am always in my own world, zoned out ,thinking about something . I have other concerns too such as lack of capability of connecting with people and being social .

It's that people feel ignored when I don't listen to them . My girlfriend is most annoyed by this so I dislike this thing the most.

@meowcat1216 ok i see. I have the same problem, friends have told me its like im sending signals that i want to be left alone. Its like im cutting off the connection when we have one. I dont know what to do about it, im still struggling with that myself. But you could start by telling your girlfriend that you DO want to connect with her, you DO want to listen and hear what she says, but that its hard and you are trying your best. I really wish i had a solution, its one of my biggest problems too.
