I’m struggling with a lot of different emotions and life problems. I do my best to keep myself focused and all together but, there is so much in my head that honestly I don’t know what or how to cope.

last year, I was diagnosed with autism. I’ve apparently had it since I was born just never had the diagnosis till now. Though, it doesn’t make me feel any better about it. How do I expect it? It’s hard for me to understand why I was made this way.

@Bittabug

I hear you. And I want you to know that what you’re feeling is completely valid. Finding out something so big about yourself especially later in life can bring up a whirlwind of emotions. Confusion, frustration, even grief. It makes sense that you’re struggling to process it all.

Autism has always been a part of you, even before you had the words for it. This diagnosis doesn’t change who you are but I understand that it can feel like it does. You’re trying to make sense of something that’s always been there but is only now coming into focus. That’s a lot to carry.

You don’t have to force yourself to "accept" it all at once. It’s okay if it takes time. It’s okay if some days, you wish things were different. And it’s okay to feel lost right now. But please hear this: You were not made wrong. You are not broken, and you are not less than anyone else. You are you , and that is enough.

I know the world can feel overwhelming and unforgiving, especially when you’re struggling to understand yourself. But even in the hardest moments, I hope you can remember that you are worthy of love, understanding, and kindness especially from yourself. You don’t have to have it all figured out right now. Just take it one day at a time, and know that you’re not alone in this.
