Handling disrespect as an autistic person

Idk if this is related in any way to autism (although I do have asperger’s) but, in my senior year of high school I was bullied sometimes by several classmates, as well as a teacher. I didn’t report the bullying that I experienced once in a while in high school it anyone because I went by the idea that “snitches get stitches.” Now I feel like that ruined my life because I still get disrespected occasionally by random people (although I am better at dealing with them now).
