How to trust oneself
How can one learn to trust their own judgement?
I feel like I can't trust my own judgement when it comes to social situations or estimating people and whenever I ask others like my friends, that they talk to me so much bad things that I believe their negative thoughts and will even start sharing those beliefs.
I want to stay positive about people but I feel like just because those around me keep telling me negative stuff that im becoming like them. I want to be able to judge situations better myself so I dont have to rely on that 2nd person pov and asking others for advice.
Maybe im being naive and all the things they say about that one person are true. Or maybe i'm right in this particular situation and they just see things differently. I for once would like to learn to differentiate both of the above..
If anyone has anything that worked for them please do share~
@LeannaLee Hey Leanna, thank you for sharing something so real. Trusting your own judgment can be hard, especially when you're surrounded by strong outside opinions. What’s helped me is slowing down and checking in with myself first asking, ‘What do I truly feel about this person or situation, before anyone else’s voice gets in my head?’ Journaling helped me separate my own voice from others'. It’s okay to consider different perspectives, but your own intuition matters too. With practice and compassion for yourself, you’ll get better at recognizing your truth. You're not naive you’re thoughtful, and that’s a strength.
I have a good example ill use here. Ive known this person for some time but just like anyone, over time we change.
I can't really base my opinion on how I felt before as I can't remember much of the last time we interacted (irl at least). It has been a while. But then do I just go into this blanky? No expectations? Just F around and find out essentially?
