Hi all! I just got diagnosed with autism and I don’t know what to do. I am someone who knows almost nothing about autism. Does anyone have advice?

I got diagnosed late last year. I still feel the same as before really.

If you are capable, it might be worth looking for a drop in type services for autism. You might learn more from being around others.

When I found out, I made it a goal to learn as much as possible about the subject, specifically from other autistic people. I personally went the route of reading memoirs from other autistic people, but you could browse blogs, social media, Youtube videos, documentaries, TED talks, and more. The social media tag #actuallyautistic features a community of posts all by autistic people (usually).

There may also be autism support groups in your area. If you happen to be in the United States, I'd suggest you avoid Autism Speaks at all costs, and look for an alternative such as the Autistic Self Advocacy Network.
