Texting v Phone call v Chatting Comfort ?
I am curious about how the community here feels about this. I think I may be the odd one out. For me, I don't mind phone calls with close people. Strangers/business, appts, that's a different story. Can't stand having to make those calls, and I always stammer. I prefer live chatting or forum posting most of all, but esp live chat with irl contacts even bc there's no waiting game and wondering about what I said. I often will go back and read, or recheck to see if something new has been sent, and I'll get frustrated because I just see texting as such a slow, tedious process. Especially when it comes to plans, or complicated matters. How do I go about letting people know I generally prefer a phone call or a live chat over feeling like I'm expected to be available to text just whenever? I don't like feeling like I could always be potentially missing a message. That's funny, because I really don't text many people, bit those I do, it's regular, long chain texts. I'm grateful for the connection but it makes me anxious. I'm AuDhd, so I also have pretty bad rejection sensitivity, and can't make heads or tails of tone in texts with NT people specifically. Thoughts? ♥️🍓✨⭐ (See I have no idea what those emojis mean; I just think they're pretty) Lol!

It's fascinating to learn how other people think and I understand what you mean by sensitivity rejection, over analysing texts and not knowing the tone of them.
But for me, I cannot talk on the phone, I dislike it so much and also live calms and videos .
I think it's more of what do I say kind of challenge for me.
💛
That's a good question, I think I would post it on social media or just say, Where possible I prefer phone conversations, so when it's convenient for all, that's my preference :)
For me, it's tricky, I'm just fussy, I don't mind texting because I can still multi task but it has to be full words, no shorthand, can't stand it.
Calls mean I have to stop what I'm doing and concentrate, I don't mind that but it has to flow. I cannot be holding the whole conversation..
Ok. That's a good idea; I like your phrasing there.
I know that it's all kind of complicated, but I applaud you for knowing your preferences. Thanks for sharing!
