Things People With Autism Wish You Knew
If you have autism, please share things that you wish people knew about autism, people on the spectrum, you specifically, or anything related <3
If you don’t have autism, please share insights you’ve learned while interacting with those with autism, whether family, friends, or anyone else. Share things you’ve read, and ask those with autism if they’re true. Share beliefs that you have, and ask those with autism what they think.
Let’s have a gentle, fun, friendly conversation between those who are neurotypical and those who are neurodivergent! As a song in one of the Land Before Time movies says, “It takes all sorts to make a world!” <3

I haven’t been officially diagnosed so I currently don’t know if I have autism or not but bc there’s been speculation in recent years about the possibility of me having autism I’ve done my own research to gain some insight or knowledge about it as much as I could.
Some things that I learned is autistic people are very repetitive. They’ll listen to the same music or even a specific song or podcast, watch the same episode, day after day, night after night, or even several times in a row.
They also have difficulty with socializing.
If anyone who does have autism can any of you please confirm if any of this information is true or not? Thanks so much!
Yep, I’ve done this with movies. Watching the same movie over and over again is comforting <3 I’ve also done this with songs :)
@jesusredeemedme2425
I’m so glad to hear that it’s comforting for you. Just hearing that from you is so comforting for me my friend. Hugs ❤️❤️
Awww thank you <3
Also socializing is a beast. Ugh lol
@jesusredeemedme2425
I definitely agree. It’s a bigger beast when you’re expected to socialize despite people not accepting you or with people who don’t accept you as you are, both things which I’ve experienced during all of my years in school
@akunknown I do this lol
@mytwistedsoul
Cool! Hope it helps you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@akunknown You are correct.
I'm autistic and i have inattentive adhd. i've been trying to work on self-esteem and getting very confused by it. people say i act like i have low self-esteem, and that i should think better of myself. I think i'm pretty great, actually, and in my own world, i would be a superstar. I was born into this world, though, so instead my skills are mostly wasted because i can't handle all the nonsense that comes with neurotypical life. My low self-esteem isn't my low opinion of myself; it's the opinion i have gotten over my life of how most other people see me. A nice guy, but you can't count on him. smart, but off the wall. i get questioned so much about what i'm doing and why i'm doing it that way, that it's hard not to feel judged, and judged to be wrong.
