I graduated with a BA with principal honors but have been unemployed for a year and a half. In the past 6 months I cut off my family after they let my abuser back, left in the night, and became homeless. I moved back when one abuser left, but I haven’t caught a break. I’m struggling with work, friendships, and purpose. My parents have always been passive, neglectful, and invalidating, and I’ve burned bridges with distant family who treated me poorly during my hardest chapter. It feels like I keep ending up living with dysfunctional people. I really need support but don’t talk to anyone.

Hi,

I'm so sorry you have to be in this position currently. I can only imagine that it's frightening and defeating, but I believe in you and if you take it one day and one step at a time the future can be so much brighter. It's hard not to make things worse when you're in such a triggering space but focusing on creating a better tomorrow for yourself can help, and in the meantime taking as much space alone as you possibly can. Reading Adult children of emotionally immature parents really helped me. Cups is here for you, and thank you for sharing. ❤️

@UntextedI’m so sorry you’re going through such a hard time right now. It’s incredibly brave of you to share your story and to take steps to protect yourself from harm. Feeling stuck and alone after everything you’ve been through makes a lot of sense. You deserve to find safe spaces where you can heal and feel supported. Even though it’s hard to reach out, talking to someone who understands or connecting with a support group could really help you feel less isolated. Remember, your past doesn’t define your future, and there are people who want to help you find your way forward. If you want, I can help you explore some options for support or ways to build new connections.
