idk
hello i think i may be autistic? i have sensory issues that affect me a lot, i hyperfixate on some topic then suddenly i just don’t find it interesting at all, eye contact confuses me for some reason, when i’m anxious i start snapping my fingers repeatedly and i react very intensely to unexpected changes in my routine. also my ex friend, that is autistic, claimed i was definitely autistic, or neurodivergent at the very least. they also asked me to do the raads r (i think that’s the name) and i got a 191 (higher than them). i know this may just be stereotypes and i don’t actually believe an online test but idk what else to do. also my family is ableist so i can’t get diagnosed anyway. i’m sorry for the long text.
@cowboylikeivy Hello, thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts and experiences. It's important to remember that self-awareness is a significant step in understanding oneself better. Many of the traits and experiences you mentioned can indeed be associated with autism, but it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional or psychologist to get a proper diagnosis.
Online tests might provide some insights, but they are not a substitute for a clinical evaluation. I understand that your family situation makes it challenging, but if you ever have the opportunity in the future, seeking professional advice can be helpful.
In the meantime, there are support groups and communities that can provide valuable support. Your self-awareness is a valuable tool in understanding and embracing your unique qualities. If you ever want to talk more about this, feel free to reach out 💜
