Hi, I just joined. I don’t really know how to talk about this, but I just wanted to talk with others who have bipolar (I’m diagnosed bipolar 2 but I’ll talk with anybody). I just feel very very alone and it’s suffocating me.

Hi it's good your on the site. They have a lot to offer. I to feel very alone and scared. For me I am very embarrassed and ashamed of this illness which makes it very very difficult to talk about. So I've pushed myself and I have started to open up to my wife and my daughters and on this site, and you know what it feels good. I would suggest spend as much time on this site find some active listeners and just start talking about any part of it. It's very theraputic and it helps me with the fear and feeling alone. I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck. Your not alone!!!!

I feel the exact same way. I was diagnosed a while ago but i’m just now starting to take treatment seriously because life is unmanageable for me without it. I’m here if you ever wanna talk. I feel alone too even though I know i’m not. You aren’t alone & you’re very strong for expressing this. I’m diagnosed bipolar but unspecified & I will also talk with anyone.

Hi! I agree with other posts here that say talking about it is so helpful. Please don't be ashamed of mental illness (harder than it sounds), because it's an illness, just like heart disease or chronic pain. It's not something that you caused, it's just the way our brains regulate dopamine.

I say our because I have it too. I was diagnosed in 2018 but once I looked back, I recognized traces of it for my entire life, ever since I was a kid. I have the rapid cycling one that causes multiple changes throughout a single day.

I'm not going to suggest one or the other, but I have done cognitive behavioral therapy to help in combination with medication. Therapy helped me cope, but I didn't feel much relief from the cycling until I started a mood stabilizer, which is common for bipolar. But that depends on how you feel about medication. Everyone has to make their own decision.

Either way, I support you and I hope you find the help you need 🤗🤗🤗
