Bipolar in a Sticky Situation

So, I have bipolar with rapid cycling, and I have been in an emotionally abusive relationship for 3 years. I'm just done, but I was isolated away from my family who moved back across the country after giving up hope. I have no friends, and I have two small children. I have a steady flow of income and I own my house. This guy has been living off of me, and he hoards. I want him gone, but I'm so scared I'm going to give up when he convinces me to keep him or that I am going to go crazy. I've never been alone before...and I just have no idea what to do. On top of bipolar, I have RA so my mobility is limited and I have few "spoons" so all I ever have time to do is take care of my kids. I'm so completely lost and I need support. 😞

I was in an emotionally abusive relationship for about a decade. Don’t do what I did. Ten years of wasting my life away with this person. Get out quickly. Life is too short. You may have no idea what to do when you are alone now, but you will find something to do. I’ve been completely lost myself. We’re here to support you. Just let us know what you need. You are not going crazy. Kick him out and don’t believe his lies, defend yourself instead. Staying in an abusive relationship is no good for both you and your family. You are strong. If I can do it, so can you.

Being in an emotionally abusive relationship ( I wasn't even aware of it until it reached a breaking point) is not worth the trauma it causes your psyche and you are better off alone. I escaped my abusive relationship and even spent some time being homeless but ultimately it was worth getting away from such a toxic relationship.

Bipolar certainly causes realtionship issues. I go to a marriage therapists trained with Bipolar. This has greatly helped heal dealing with this Bipolar ailment. My wife is a gem because she took the time to learn about everything Bipolar. I consider myself one of the lucky ones...
