Buzzing/vibrating across the forehead

April 10th, 2017

So me and my mom have asked doctors, looked online, in books but no answers. I think it's connected with my disorders because it's mood related. Anyway, when I had my second mental break down six years ago I got this weird... Vibrating buzzing sensation in my forehead whenever I start to feel and going through a bad emotion. If I'm angry, buzzing. If I'm stressed, buzzing. If I'm anxious, you guessed it, buzzing. Each emotion has a different feeling of buzzing. Like different textures I guess??? It's not painful just annoying. Well, it's been verging on the edge of painful since I'm going through these really really bad mixed states because each buzzing sensation for each emotion I'm feeling is being felt all at once. Any ideas?

@BookW0rm I've never heard of anything quite like this. Not sure what to suggest. I hope if anyone out there has some information about this issue, they can point you in the right direction.

First of all, I LOVE your screen name! Second of all, this has happened to me! It was terrifying. Mine was an isolated incident and took place shortly after a car accident, but it was terrifying. I was sitting at a table at work one day and all of a sudden I heard this electric buzzing sound that began in my ear accompanied by a traveling motion from the left side of my head to the right, and a strong sensation of vibration. The only thing I can equate it with is a light saber moving through my cranium and the kind of vision you might experience during an earthquake. The sound and sensation were so intense that the person next to me said all the color drained from my face. My first thought was "This is it. I am going to die right here on this tile floor." This was also accompanied by migraines and vertigo, although I had experienced these in the past. When I went to the emergency room they ran blood work and started an IV. I did my best to describe this to doctors without sounding and feeling utterly insane as the words left my mouth. I was ultimately treated for dehydration and fatigue, and the hospitalization was inconclusive. They surmised it may have been a pinched nerve in my brain or neck as a result of my recent car accident, although nothing we emergent and it never happened again.

Things having to do with our coginitive health are always scary. Unfortunately, there is not much doctor's can do because they simply do not know. Just know, you are not alone.
