A handfu of Xanax if you are lucky or other melatonin products if medication helps you...medication doeas not work on me so I have to deal with my own insomnia...I haven't slept in 2 days now...
@Elovesheehan have you ever tried cbd oils with melatonin?
Yes!!!!! I absolutely struggle with it and have for years. I would love to give you a magical solution, but if I had one I wouldn't be struggling. The thing is that supposedly a good routine does help. Which sounds great for the non bipolar people. But for me, I suck at routine. So I rarely get past a few days at best. However, things that always make it worse for me is any device with blue light (phone, computer, etc). Blue light glasses help... a little, but keeping my phone out of reach is better. Bedtime tea, warm baths, calm yoga all help slow down the nervous system, but again consistency is what really makes those things effective.
I usually have insomnia in the summer. This annoys me a lot! On Canadian pharmacy I read that you need to exercise regularly, go to bed and wake up at the same time, take medication to improve sleep such as valerian, eat healthy food and go for a walks more often. When I follow these rules, my sleep improves significantly. So as soon as the winter or summer holidays come, I immediately try to do it all and then I have everything fine with sleep
Well everyone has different strategies to cope with it. I'll share mine. I was prescribed melatonin supplements and zoloft (idk can't remember lol). It helped a lot in maintaining a cycle. Rn I'm just using melatonin since my sleep schedule is fine. I started running and gym. It made me tired. Basically do everything (like chores or gardening)that makes you super tired. It helps you fall asleep naturally too. Maintaining a good routine helps a lot. Not using screens 1 hours before bed. And putting phone on airplane mode. Waking up early. Initially its gonna be hard. No matter how late you sleep just wake up early. Slowly it will fix your sleep cycle. Cut caffeine. Journal before bed. Clear your mind. Write down all the -ve thoughts that might lead to overthinking. Have chamomile tea. Use lavender essential oil. Spray it on your pillow to make you calm. Or ummm use it in humidifier. Room temperature matters a lot too. Relatively colder room helps you fall asleep faster. Breathing exercises for sleep. you can look it up. A 10 min walk before bed helps too. And a scalp massage too lol
