I’m sorry you don’t have support, I too am having difficulty. However I was recently diagnosed and I’ve been dealing with these symptoms and mood swings for the last 8 years. So I have pushed my family and friends away. Now that I have this diagnosis I understand why it’s been so difficult to “change” or just “be better”. But it’s too late I have destroyed those relationships. It’s very tough so I can relate to you.

Hi I'm newly diagnosed and my mood stabilizers are finally working, but it's too late in a lot of ways. My marriage failed soon after my diagnosis and I miss my kids. I'm also recovering from a major physical injury during all of this. I'm going to have a mild physical disability for life. I'm bipolar 2 ultra rapid cycling, every 3-4 days. I'm still cycling, but the mood stabilizer has really help tamp things down. I'm using my coping mechanisms more effectively, but I'm still majorly depressed because of my life situation. It's nice to have some tamped down hypomania every few days, but I need to force myself to take it easy, sleep and eat. I try to be optimistic about overcoming my life challenges and am accepting the fact that Im both physically disabled and mentally disabled. Im open to some about my bipolar at work, and they are very understanding. I am fortunate enough to be able to create my own schedule. This is all a mixed bag so I hold on to the good parts. I encourage everyone to hold on to the good parts as well. God helps us all.

Hi @star113! Sorry I'm just seeing this now but I have all the same diagnosis as you and would love to have someone to chat with about it. I know the struggle and I've found treatment that works for me. Some of the things I've done and said could only be understood if you understand the illness. I'm thinking of applying for disability but I'm scared, it's all so overwhelming.

Hi @Star113. My name is Joe. I am 40 years old. I was diagnosed with Schizoaffective, Bipolar type and Social anxiety 21 years ago. It has been a struggle at times but there Is hope. Some wisdom I can share from experience is : Don't be afraid to ask for help (you don't have to face this alone), You don't have to be ashamed (you didn't choose this), You don't have to be afraid of others finding out (If they have a problem with it then they are either ignorant or not worth your time), Every episode has a beginning and an end (they are Not permanent), What you have is a Real ailment (as real as diabetes) you just can't measure it physically. This one is hard for me to admit: There are good people in this world who actually care about others. You just need to find them. Overcoming the paranoia makes that difficult though. Best of luck to you. We got stuck with one of worst ones. I am a weak, shy person and I have made it over 20 years so far. I know that seems like forever, but it goes fast. You can do this! One last thing: Love yourself (you are a good person and you deserve it!) 💞
