Question
I'm still learning about bipolar one. Is it normal to be depressed and just want to go buy stuff to hope to feel better?
I have been there so many times! I don t find it particularly effective in the long run though because i just end up feeling guilty about all the rubbish i got and my drained bank account. I try to find other ways to lift my spirits like reading, watching movies, talking to friends, and going for a walk. All the stuff we already know but that is hard to put in practice. Sometimes it s just easier to click on things on amazon, it s like getting a present, but i find the short term warm glow doesn t outweigh the guilt afterwards. So you re definitely not alone! Take care of yourself.
I have been there many times. Going on spending sprees in my hypomanic episode, feeling "good" only to look back and wonder how on earth I racked up such a high credit card bill. Trying to hide that fact after my mom bailed me out once 5 years ago, and having to out her through making that payment again last week was the last straw. I am deciding to just work and exist on bare minimum and pay back the little I can.
