Unspecified bipolar, OCD and addiction
I'm in a dual diagnosis outpatient rehab and was diagnosed with unspecified bipolar and OCD. I'm a parent and husband and I feel like I can't even do the bare minimum. I shut down with basic tasks. If my morning routine is thrown off, I want to give up. I'm so exhausted. I used to be high functioning and it's like I snapped and can't pick the pieces back up.
That’s frustrating. I just want to say I feel you. I’m usually high functioning but I have had some low functioning times throughout the years. I’ve struggled to do basic tasks due to dissociation, severe anxiety and feeling low and in emotional pain. I’ve never been diagnosed but I do feel like I struggle with mild OCD. I get really messed up if I’m off my routine too. I promise you things are gonna get better. Just make little steps every day to help improve your life and routine. You can do this. Having a long term therapist would be helpful and trying a daily meditation practise. Also focusing on what is going right (gratitude journal is helpful).
You’re not alone at all. The last week I’ve been thrown off and have not been able to get back into my normal life. And it’s just so frustrating and debilitating wanting to go back but also not wanting to because you physically can’t. I was diagnosed with Severe OCD, schizophrenia and was given two different antipsychotics as anxiety meds which doesn’t help my obsessive thoughts that I could be bipolar, I don’t want to self diagnosed but so much adds up.
