Bipolar, trigger and situationship
I have been battling with a depressive episode a week now, and feel I may have ruined a possible relationship due to my uncontrollable emotions. I immediately think the worse-case scenario and that was a trigger for me. I want this person to see that I can be a good partner instead of this needy, desperate person? How can I make this person see I am his person without having my emotions and jealousy get the better of me? Full disclosure, he is in an unhappy marriage. Please be kind.
@Steffnie I'm really sorry to hear that you've been going through a depressive episode. It can be incredibly challenging to manage our emotions, especially when they affect our relationships. I want you to know that you're not alone, and I'm here to listen and support you.
It's understandable that you're concerned about how your emotions may have impacted your potential relationship. It's important to remember that everyone has their own struggles and circumstances, and it's crucial to prioritize your well-being while navigating this situation.
When it comes to demonstrating that you can be a good partner, the key lies in communication and self-care. Openly expressing your feelings and concerns to the person involved can help foster understanding and create a supportive environment. Additionally, taking care of yourself emotionally and seeking professional help, such as therapy or counselling, can provide you with the necessary tools to manage your emotions more effectively.
However, it's important to consider the complexity of the situation, given that the person you're interested in is in an unhappy marriage.
Remember to be patient and kind to yourself throughout this process. Healing and personal growth take time, and it's okay to have setbacks along the way. Focus on developing a healthy and balanced approach to relationships, which includes understanding and managing your own emotions.
If you ever need someone to talk to or if there's anything specific you'd like advice on, please don't hesitate to reach out. You're deserving of happiness and support, and I'm here to listen.
