Grieving bipolar diagnosis
Hello there. My dr recently switched my diagnosis from MDD to Bipolar following a severe manic episode and a cycle of depressive and hypomanic episodes following. I’m feeling really sad about this and hopeless as I’ve been going through med changes for so long and I can’t reach stability. Bipolar also carries so much stigma so it’s just a lot for me to take in at once

It's unfortunate you got a new diagnosis, but whatever it takes to get healing I'll do..
Thank you for sharing.. yes bi-polar is stigmatized but it is a natural part of life..🌲
I'm sorry that you are feeling this way. Maybe in the beginning you will feel everything is tiring and bearing so much to face, but the time and persistence on treatment will make you stronger. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger.
Thank you so much for sharing. I got diagnosed last year, after two hospital admissions, I still struggle to come to turns with this diagnosis. Some days I just feel so low about the diagnosis, disengaged, detached but I am trying my best to be strong. I take new medications, I have a therapy, I am under care of psychiatrist, just hoping to get my life back fully. And live it fully. But the grief is real.
Thanks for sharing it feels good to know I’m not alone in this. It’s definitely frustrating to feel like you’re doing all of the right things (meds, therapy, etc) and aren’t feeling stable or “good”. I was hospitalized multiple years ago for mania but was misdiagnosed with MDD. Since then I’ve had long depressions and bouts of hypomania that flew under the radar until my recent diagnosis change. The med changes and lack of positive results is exhausting and I see you. Thanks again for sharing your experience with the grief associated with this diagnosis. I wish you the best 😇
