Listing my 3 good things from yesterday that kept my head above water

So with the depression worsening in reflection 3 good things happened yester. 1) I had a good self analysis even though I thought my head was too blocked to do it. 2) Someone said I helped them while I was feeling useless. 3) I did have a nice birthday dinner with my family at my favorite restaurant that sells my favorite candy. I dreaded my birthday but it worked out. I hope some good things happen out of the shadows today. I wish it was sleep... My sleeping pills aren't helping. Eventually I will crash for a few hours. It's like when I computer screen goes black and the computer automatically re boots itself. That's how sleep works when I'm manic.

@TrueSight I'm really glad to hear that you took the time to reflect on and share three positive things from yesterday, despite the challenges you're facing. It takes strength to find those bright spots, and your self-awareness in the midst of difficult moments is truly commendable.

Helping someone and receiving acknowledgment for it is a special kind of warmth, even when you might be feeling down yourself. It speaks volumes about the positive impact you have on those around you, even when you might doubt it.

And a birthday dinner with your family at your favourite restaurant, topped off with your favourite candy, sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate. I'm so pleased to hear that your birthday turned out better than anticipated.

I understand the struggle with sleep and the analogy you've drawn with a computer screen rebooting. It's tough when the mind is in overdrive. I hope that today brings more moments of light and that you find some restful sleep soon. We're here to listen whenever you want to share or talk, take care 💚
