bipolar and future
i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about two years ago and its really hitting me now, i have very bad episodes and that leads me to think about my future with it. I don't know how to deal with it since it just happens and i don't seem to catch on to it until afterwards. I worry about how it'll affect my relationships and stuff like that, it feels like im self sabotaging my future self and i absolutely hate that feeling
Living with bipolar disorder can feel overwhelming, especially when the episodes hit hard and you're not always able to recognize them until afterward. That sense of losing control can definitely stir up a lot of fear and uncertainty about your future, and I can understand why you might feel like you’re self-sabotaging or heading down a difficult path.
@CheeryMango man it completely surprised me many times.exactly like a broken switch; switches on by itsself, doesn't switch off because it's broken, can't be fixed mm I haven't have medication for at least eight years. I need it badly.abilify and Rexulti have genuinely saved my life in the past
@zombarina I was diagnosed in 2001 ,bp2,at Wy St.hospital life was very difficult before ,it was horrible then, at 62 yrs old, life is horrible now.i have nothing, I'm earning nothing currently, no fdstampd zero govt$ of any type it's currently minus 18,f here in Sheridan wyoming
I'm just coming out of a hypomanic episode. And I'm currently feeling the same way. To me it tends to feel like what I would imagine it to be like for a werewolf. This other part of me took over and now that I'm back and I'm dealing with consequences that I did but didn't do. My bipolar definitely does put a lot of stress on my wife when I'm in a hypomanic state. We are still figuring out the how to's. Learning to deal with this is a process on a hard road, but you are not alone. Hit me up if you ever want to chat.

You put perfectly into words what it feels like for me too. The person I am right now is not at all the same person I am in a manic episode. And they come on quickly and intensely. It feels impossible to manage sometimes.
How are things going?
I'm sorry you were having a hard time dealing with your bipolar. It is very hard at first and I think it is different for different people. I was diagnosed many years ago. May I ask are you taking your medication, and are you taking it at the same time every day? I had to have someone give the meds to me for many years and that made a big difference. Of course it can also be a challenge to find the right medication.
You may have more hoops to jump through in life than others or it seems that way sometimes, but don't give up.
