Is he bipolar or schizophrenic.?

So I'm concerned about a friend of mines I've noticed certain patterns in his behavior. Like one minute being super happy loving positive and upbeat then being cold and distant and irritable. The last time we talked on the phone was February 2 he was in a great mood happy upbeat peppy and talking about making plans with me so a week later he became distant & less responsive & enthusiastic so on February 11 I texted him and he snapped on me he told me to leave him alone and how mad I was making him so then he said he wanted to fight and go to war and referred to himself as the devil then I got him a mil calm and he told me to enjoy my day and he said he hated himself and his life.
