Seroquel
My doctor would like to start me on a new medication since I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar type two. Does anyone have any insight on Seroquel and weight gain? Is it avoidable or is it inevitable? I’d like to know as I also struggle with anorexia.

I did find that I gained some weight when starting this medication.
However, it was not inevitable, this is because the medication itself is not what makes you gain weight, but rather the medication makes you crave more carbs, which is what would make you gain weight. I did not keep the weight on, and in fact now I find the cravings controllable after taking a few months of adding a food diary to my ood tracking, in order to help me find the diet and nutrition regiment that was best for me :)

I am currently on Seroquel and have not experienced any weight gain, but I am on numerous other pills that have weight loss and suppression as side effects so maybe they all cancel each other out.
