Am i making the wrong decision?

Hi I am 18 years old.

I gave entrance exams and my last year of school without much prep yes i wasn't serious at all maybe? But life also played tricks on me...I tried giving improvement exams..but it still did tricks on me .... People who mattered to me died...my maternal and paternal grandfather...my family...faced some sever problems even though my parents tired theri utmost that my studies don't get affected

And I being a 18 year old never took life seriously...i thought it was just flowers....and petals..but I never knew what I really wanted ..

So my father told me give entrances...i gave I got below average marks...but I got a college I got inside ...but the moment I was just submitting my files...I got so overwhelmed we withdrew ....and...now I got another college it's a decent private college..CSE Data Science....but ....

I just have tomorrow to go and get admission but....

Something in me says...take a drop ...study ...and ..find yourself..give the entrance after you are prepared....I don't have the percentage to get the highest...colleges...but ....I want to give myself a chance...

Am...I wrong to take a drop? Because everyone is saying if you don't have that particular percentage why are you wasting your year....

But I don't know..
