I’m starting my career and I feel so lost. I’ve finished biomedical engineering but in Poland there isn’t many job in this field so I’ve changed and started studying psychology. I’ve always love meditate and learn eastern philosophy. So it’s fine but I hear from many people that it’s hard path. Because there is so many psychologists and the courses, studies, psychotherapy course is so expensive. I can’t go to this after studies so I worry that after I finish psychology I will be in the same place. And my anxiety will be worse because I will regret this studies or I will want come back to engineering. How can I listen to my heart when I don’t hear nothing from it. Can anybody help/advise?🙏🏼

understand how overwhelming it can be to feel torn between two paths, especially when both seem uncertain. It’s natural to feel anxious about making the "wrong" choice and sometimes it’s hard to hear your heart when the pressure is high.

Perhaps the answer won’t come immediately but in time, with patience and self-compassion, the clarity you're seeking might emerge. In moments of doubt, give yourself space to explore and trust the process. The right direction often reveals itself when you allow it to unfold.

I hope you find the peace and direction you're looking for.

I work in the mental health field. I was good at what I did but sucked in taking the licensure exam. Anxiety! I repeated the exam many times. I liked the work for so long till the exam reminded me I was a failure. I felt lost and quitted my job. I did something else that wa less stressful than the mental health job. During those two years, I continued studying for and taking the exam. Now looking back, things happened for a reason. In those two years, I made 2/3 of the old income. I was using my savings to pay bills. Stress level was much less than before. I finally passed the freaking exam. Career planning is good but things could change and demands for our career could change as well. I have worked in the helping profession for 24 yrs. The trend has been more stable than IT, finance, business administration. The world is getting crazier. AI cannot replace human interaction. Hang in there.
