Feeling lost with my career life
I recently studied a bachelor of computer and information science in application development. I don’t know if it is for me and my parents want me to go in it because they paid for 3 years of uni. I finished my degree but I still don’t know how to code. I feel so lost in life and stupid. I have no passion, no interest and I don’t know what I want to go into and I never have. I’m so lost. I don’t mind going into what I studied but I don’t really enjoy coding so I just don’t know what to do.

The reality is if you did not like it with 3 yrs in uni imagine you will not like decade of it at work. Is it different then you expected or why did you chose that course of study?

It sounds it must be difficult for you being not sure about the subject of your studies and at the same feeling pushed to continue.
I think it happens more often than we imagine to make mistakes about our educational path. In my case it was failing to pass an entry exam once and leaving studies after half a year twice before I finally found the right university and graduated. But the experience was valid. And now I think the money spent on it wasn't the best investment, because I hardly need any studies for the job I do now. But we don't know the future...
Maybe the question you might ask to yourself is: can I like and get used to this kind of job, or is it something totally disgusting to me and different than anything I would like to do? Do you have any options to change the subject of your studies without losing the efforts of last 3 years?
Another idea: Nowadays there are user-friendly AI interfaces like Chat GPT, which can perform the actual coding, only being checked and supervised by an IT professional like you. The traditional idea of coding might soon be a matter of the past. Maybe that is a way?
Where are you from mate? I am in a very similar situation. I have a bachelor in computer science, I have a good job in tech research... and now I hate tech, I hate everything about it and I just want to live an analogical life. In a few months I will leave my job, change my life. I'll be 29 soon but nothing is gonna stop me from doing that. If you want, you can adopt the same spirit of mine and just change.
hey hey @greenSquare9891 welcome to the community! i feel you on this one😅it's ssuper tough when you're in that "i don't even know" place. it's okay to not have everything figured out, for real. sometimes it just takes time and a bunch of trial and error, ya know? you're not alone in this! big hugs to you, you'll find your way eventually🤗
