Job Assessment
I submitted another job application that required me to take a skills assessment. It tested me on basic math and English concepts along with typing and data entry. I had a lot of anxiety when I was doing the math and English portion because it brought me back to my school days where I did not do well on both of those subjects. I don't know why job applications keep doing these type of assessments when all that really matters is the experience and how much a candidate can bring to the company.

I get that some of those are a bit redundant but unfortunately so many say they have skills on a resume or CV and they do not possess those skills.... I have worked with people whom could not perform the items needed for job. I get those with test anxiety and such often get flustered with these often timed short assessments.
@toughTiger6481 It is just that no job is ever going to ask those specific type of questions. I know for jobs like finance and banking obviously there will be math involved, but not to a point where someone ask you word problems. Also no one is going to time you when you are typing out an email.

I think some things are just to see if someone will go through it as asked ...
most of what i have personally done were job related in some fashion like being able to scan forms to ensure info is complete or identify what was missing such for insurance work. math can be used several things and use and familiar of certain types of programs.
It seldom was the test but the attitude about taking them.
