Job Offer

I’m a little unsure in my next steps! I currently have a well paying, relaxed job that pays around $16 an hour, but got a really good job offer for $25 an hour. I just feel guilty though? I work hard at my current job, the people are incredible, and I just feel bad. Should I continue with the new job offer?

@MeganR24

I think you were interested in the job if you applied for it.  Many people feel conflicted when leaving a job we liked had friends there.    Not every one that moves on does it because they dislike a job but they see a new path and financial incentive.

Are you worried about new job what if you do not like it or fit in make friends etc?

Nah, not so worried about fitting in, just more so I feel guilty leaving everyone I currently know. I know I’m not obligated to the single job, especially if I’m ready to move on to a newer position and company, they’ve just been such a wonderful environment. I’ve made a few friends, the relationship with my bosses are great, I just feel anxious and feel a bit guilty saying goodbye!

But you make a good point, I see the incentives and new path in front of me, and I’m being offered it, and being as young as I am, I should take the opportunity.

Thank you for your time! This helped a lot!

Hi @MeganR24
This is a really difficult decision. I am so proud of you that you love your current job and work hard.
I would like to say, just consider few factors. Is the new job offer really good or just pays better? Will they offer you same warm environment, comfort, and respect, you are having in your current job?

If you believe that the current job has better environment, then stay. Or if other job can really offer you better balance than this one, go ahead.

Have a nice day!
Lots of love.

Hello!

Reading this did help me significantly! I know the job environment at the new job seems to be pretty friendly and ready for me!

I think the new job offers me a better balance over all as well, something to help me feel like me again and not overworking myself 24/7.

Thank you so much! I appreciate you!

Congratulations on the new job offer!!! 🎉🎉 I hope that you’ve been able to find the strength to take the new position that you worked to get. It sounds like it’s a good fit, pays quite a bit more, and has hope of not being as stressful of a situation. Emotions are meant to be felt and managed rather than letting them manage and control us. Great work asking for insight and support here!
