So, I'm getting out of an about 3 year working gap that was taken to focus on my health (physical and mental). And, I'm happy I progressed sooner than expected; However, getting hired with an employment gap is not helpful at all right now and it's a nightmare finding work! And, (as a result) I can only search in increments because it feels awful, even of it is just a job. And, all I'm looking for is Retail or Sales; something entry level.

@youngliongrl898

I found if you explain the gap in general terms taking care of a family health issue/ volunteering .. for example.     I had interviews and it was a short question not really an issue.

i find from spending time in retail...... they are more concerned you are willing to stay awhile as turnover is their big negative.  i saw many turned down because they do not want investment to teach you to work their system and you plan to leave asap...

If you show interest ... if asked about gap tell them what you want..... does not have to share details or why... i told one place i was house sitting ... just not that the house was my own because  i was in a  deep depression.

Oh, that's solid advice! So, does the phrase "To take care of health emergencies" work? Or is there a better way to phrase this? Because it was to work on my physical and mental well-being because it was emergent.
