Overcoming poor training and management

I began my current position last November. I was promised focused 1 on 1 training with the GM and Assistant manager. Upon starting, I was left in the back office to watch online training videos and forgotten about for a week and a half, when I finally got onto the sales floor, I expected to be met with that aforementioned training, as I was new to this industry. Instead, I had 20 minutes at the end of my shift and after my scheduled time to leave to be trained by the GM. I stayed that extra time that day because I was worried it was the only 1 on 1 time I would get with her (she’s notoriously always to busy to help) and I WAS RIGHT! Now 7 months later, I am consistently being criticized by her about accuracy on things I was never properly trained for. I am extremely frustrated as I have worked REALLY hard to teach MYSELF the things I DO know and to even be able to fill in with other departments when needed even though they are not technically. I feel like I have given all of myself to simply trying to make this job work at least for the time being and have nothing to show for it. Today was my 2nd “performance evaluation” which I seem to be the only one who gets those. Every performance evaluation lists the same criticisms but my manager has yet to spend anytime training me further to correct them.

Sone people just don't know how to teach. Here's a few techniques I have used.

I found someone who had what I wanted to learn and could teach and I asked if they would be my mentor.

I used "start stop continue". I asked multiple colleagues to write down 3 things - what I should start doing, what I should stop doing, and what I should continue doing. This gave me lots to work on in a way that was easy for the other people.

I became passionate about self learning. I've come to realise that the best schools teach how to learn. Because, once a person knows how to teach themself, they can learn anything and everything is available to them. So, what's your learning style? How can you teach yourself?
