School Stress College
I’m so stressed out by my sophomore year of college. I’m doing history, which are my weakest subjects. And I’m so stressed out rn because my teachers aren’t allowing me to submit my assignments late saying my accommodation's aren’t retroactive. I need to pass these classes for sap so I can get financial aid next semester and I need to have sap so I can receive loans which I use to pay for my car repairs where it recently costs 4k and now another 1k as I wait for my refunds. Me going to school use to be easy peasy until I broke my car which caused the expensive repairs and btw you can’t get loans without sap, while door dashing essentially starting a job. Starting a job messed up my dopamine receptors that I can no longer focus and retain. Right now, especially with unmedicated adhd, and people don’t realize how hard it is to get medicated and how long have to wait. Heck I’ve had mental issues for 20 years now and I’m still unmedicated. They keep telling me oh I keep having breakdowns at school and in public, then they say I should easily get medicated, then I go to the hospital and they tell me that’s how’s the system works. Anyways I was saying I don’t retain the information like I usually do and tbh I use to like studying cause WELL it’s SO EASY and rewarding (well it use to be). My professors would let me submit things late because it wouldn’t really affect my grades anyways. Now they won’t and they know I’m struggling so bad in classes. At this point I’m convinced I have dyslexia but not diagnosed. My exam be tommrow morning and I’m studying but retaining information so I’d rather just watch my favorite streamer. Idk what to do guys… Help!
@modestCranberry2356 I am so sorry you're feeling so stressed out. May I offer a suggestion to you? Breathe, please. Just take a moment to breathe. *Breathe in, breathe out* Sometimes with all of life's stressors, we have to make time to do just that. You're clearly going through a lot all at the same time. One thing on top of another on top of another... it's no wonder you're feeling this way.
You said your exam is tomorrow. Is there any way you can temporarily just focus on that and then get some sleep so you are well rested for tomorrow. Try and do your best and get through that, then tackle the other things. After your exam, contact the accessibility services office and see how they can assist you moving forward. I'm sorry your teachers won't unlock the assignments so you can turn in late work. I see how important this is for you.
I really hope things get better for you in all aspects of your life. Best of luck to you with everything. Hang in there and don't give up. Take care.
I feel like I’ve given up and just accepted that I’m intellectually disabled. I’ve been struggling to read since grade school, but doing well on tests it went unnoticed. I feel like each week I’m gripping on hardly and that’s not how it should be. I feel like I’m not college level
