Teaching feels soul sucking
I’ve been a teacher off and on for 14 years. It was never my intention to teach, but was good at it and it’s what I always fall back on.
I’m teaching again, although I told myself I wouldn’t do it again. But when I am struggling to find my next thing, everyone around me wants me to keep teaching because it’s stable and I’m good at it.
I also want to be financially stable and feel like I’m too far in the wrong career to start over.
I feel trapped.
I spend everyday either becoming overwhelmed by the students’ emotions or I completely detach and am just apathetic about everyone, everything- teaching and life.
I hate the person I am as a teacher.
I just wish I had the courage to leave.

It is never too late to find a career that you enjoy ..... many who just sought stability and put years into something even if they feel drained by it and feel trapped.
Your gift or teaching can be used in many ways like the other poster said training employees in a corporate setting etc. Many skills needed for your job are transferable.
I will tell you trying something new now instead of waiting more years and only thinking could have / should have will pay off big. I was in a soul *** job i was great at and it was stable but my health both physical and mental was suffering .... i made a change found I was good at several things and my health returned once the stress of dreading the job i was in was lifted.
