Trying to Find Peace in Current Job
Hello, I currently work at the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline, I work from home, and I currently work a part-time schedule due to my mental health getting worse recently. I’ve noticed that my job really triggers my anxiety, since you never know what kind of call you’re going to get, and it’s been so severe, that I’ve been having a panic attack daily, and have been nauseous and vomiting a lot. I do really well at my job, so I know it’s not a performance issue. Since I’ve started working from home, the vomiting has subsided, but I still get panic attacks daily in the mornings. I’ve gone to a behavioral health urgent care to see if they can medicate me for Anxiety, and I’ll be seeing my psychiatrist on the 8th, and I’ll want to go back to the max dose for my mood stabilizing medication too for my Bipolar since I’ve been in a depressive episode for a while. The anxiety medication takes about two weeks in order for me to feel the effects. Does anyone have any tips on how I can continue to go to work and do my job while I’m suffering?

I'm really glad that you are going to see a therapist soon 💛
And I hope that you get the support you need.
I admire you for doing this job.
It's not easy at all.
It's important to process heavy feelings after a distressing call.
Be gentle with yourself.
Calm.
Deep breaths.
And know, all you can do is your best 💛

Thank you for your kind words 💕
I feel like I am stuck in flight mode, and I keep trying to find ways to leave my current job, but my current job has good perks, such as the company is a great company to work for, I work from home, and I currently work part-time.
It’s just an emotionally draining job, and I’m trying to find ways to make it better.
