Trying to get out of serving/bartending

Does anyone have any experience getting out of the trap that is working for tips at a restaurant? IYKYK. I have other work experience and skills and education and lots going for me… but I’d have to take quite the pay cut for several years no matter which direction I go into next. Or so it seems.
For those of you who have experienced something similar, how did you go about moving on and what was it like for you?

I did bartend when I was in school and I hated it. When I got out of school and got a new job, I started at the bottom. It took years to work my way up. That is just the normal sequence of how it works. Perhaps you need to prioritize; what is the most important aspect in making for a happy life for you.
