Congratulations 🥰

They'll be proud of you, I'm sure.

And you are doing it for them.

Just make sure it's quality time when you are together, no screens, really doing something together. Its not about what you are doing, just the fact you are together 💜💕

Dealing with conflicting priorities is difficult, isn't it? You have two things there, that are naturally both really important to you, so it's understandable that it's hard to choose how to manage them.

7 cups do a really good course on how to achieve your goals. I suspect that many are surprised that a significant part of the course is figuring out exactly which goals. I certainly went on the course thinking I knew what I wanted to achieve. But how many of us stop to think, why that goal? Often our goals are given to us by our upbringing, rather than things we have actually chosen for ourselves. Do we really want success, or do we just want to impress those around us? Do we really want a family, or are we afraid to be labelled an unattractive loner? When we are not striving for what we really want or believe in, we can feel a lot of conflict. So spending some time to figure out exactly what you want deep inside, can be really helpful. When you are old and confined to a chair, what about your life will bring you most pleasure?

The other thing 7 cups taught me was about boundaries. It sounds like deciding and setting some boundaries between work and life might be helpful. My husband and I built a company. It's exciting. And demanding. And there's always, always, something else that needs doing. But we never did more than 40 hours, no more than anyone else. We finished on time every day. If its important, it can wait til tomorrow, it will get done. If it doesn't get done, it wasn't important. If the idea behind the business is sound, it will succeed. If it doesn't succeed, or needs a ridiculous amount of work to succeed, in my view, it never was going to.

Someone once rang me at work on my day off. I didn't pick up the phone. The next day that person asked me "what if it was an emergency?" I replied that if it was an emergency they should be ringing the police, fire or ambulance, not me.

Inversely, I had a colleague who nearly lost his job because his wife kept ringing him at work. His lack of boundary nearly cost him everything.

And so, I believe it is key to establish exactly what's important to us, to define the boundaries that are needed to protect what's important to us, and then respect those boundaries, so that others will respect them too.

Good luck and success in everything you do.
