Work stress
I’m really struggling with work at the moment I landed myself an opportunity. During that time my cat passed away my childhood pet and also dropped a friendship and family stress. I’m struggling to fit in and I’ve been here for 1year almost . Ontop of that I feel like another team this girl would speak about me even though I can’t be sure it’s about me it does make me feel on edge. I feel like the relationship with my co workers is non existent even though they help
Me if I’m in need of help I often find myself just asking for help other then a connection I know it’s work but sitting next to someone and not talking isn’t my ideal work environment . They have their click with each other. I find it hard to be myself but the job itself is good experience. I don’t know how to navigate through this work environment. I’m feeling unhappy and just drained and often just not so confident with myself when I first stayed I felt I was judged alot for my decisions even though I was trained doing it like that. It’s sad I feel alone but I know this job is not easy to find. What can I do .
The past year sounds like a real struggle for you, dealing with different types of grief is very challenging at a new workplace. Aside from the feelings of not being part of the team, the lack of connections with your co-workers, and the feeling of being judged. Does this workplace give you any sense of achievement, comfort, or accomplishment?
You've mentioned that this job was not easy to find in the first place, and to land into this opportunity must've required your time, effort and preparation. How are you feeling now, after a year has passed? Emotionally and mentally, do you feel more at ease than when you first started? Do you see yourself working at this place, say 3-5 years down the road? Is there absolutely no other company to work at if you were to leave your current place?
I know that it can feel draining when you do not feel a part of the team in a workplace, but if you're feeling accomplished or the work itself gives you satisfaction or feel rewarded. Then, at least, you can use those thoughts to keep yourself afloat, to keep moving forward and give your 100% into the work. Don't think of about how others might be talking about you, or judging you. At every workplace, no matter which industry, there will always be coworkers who will go against you, will talk about you, will try to get you in trouble, etc. At these times, all we can do is mind our own business, do our part, and not listen to what others may be saying about you. I know it's difficult to ignore it as you will hear about it around you, but do try and not to let it bother you.
