Too Skilled to Fail, Too Unprepared to Win
I’ve got solid skills, but my work ethic? Pretty bad. I’ve been called unprofessional, and honestly, they’re right. I have a super laid-back approach to life, but it’s messing things up—I miss deadlines, communicate poorly, and never really know how long a task will take. So, I’ve started working on myself—reading, reflecting, and unlearning bad habits—while practicing in a safe space with an employer who gets me.
The tricky part? I keep getting amazing job offers because of my skills, but when I take them, I crash and burn, wasting everyone’s time and wrecking my reputation. And the worst part? I know I’m capable, but I’m still not there yet.
My mind is constantly fighting between “You’re not ready” and “You’ll never be perfectly ready.” I don’t know how to deal with that clash or when to finally take the leap without setting myself up for failure again.

The truth is no one is ever completely ready.
You know your weakness in a laid back work ethic. that is further along then some who do not see it is that type of thing holding them back. Staying on task and focused i do not think a person can practice it is a decision. if you took a good offer you have control of yourself to say hey straighten up do what it takes even if it is outside your usual behavior and you know what in a short time your habits change and you will be focused without the effort it takes at first .
