Discussion on World Wide Acceptance

Hey everyone!

One of my favorite artists MARINA recently released a song called To Be Human. The music video is based on Human Rights as well as acceptance (in my opinion), which has been a topic very widely covered worldwide. I wanted to share the song with you all! https://youtu.be/DM8Tm9ycGz4

Some lyrics that really stands out to me are:

"All the people living in, Living in the world today, We're united by our love, We're united by our pain"

This part of the song is probably the strongest message in it. Though we are different and live in different places around the world we still feel love and we still feel pain. When something serious happens in one part of the world we all feel it, we all sympathize and feel bad for the tragedy that happened, for example Manchester or the Paris attacks. No matter where you are we all were affected by it, maybe in a different way but still affected.

Another line that stood out to me: "And anywhere you go, you see people are just like you and me"

No matter where you go in the world we are all human, we bleed the same. We may be different but we are humans, we have emotions and thoughts.

The next one that really stood out to me was: "The missiles and the bombs sound like symphonies gone wrong"

War and fighting isn't pretty, it happens so much in the world sadly. Its would be so nice if we could all just get along with each other. We need to accept others instead of want to change other countries. It's okay if we have different view but it should be settled much more respectfully

Some questions for you:

1) How do you feel about the song? Do you agree with the message being sent? Why or why not

2) What lyrics and/or imagery resonated with you the most? What does it mean to you?

3) What do you think we can do as a community here on 7 cups to resolve conflict and issues we have with others in the community? How can we keep the peace on here?

Musicians and artist now a days should have songs like this, something with positive messages, its not only selling records, its not about popstar selling albums but songs that doesnt have meanings. The message here is clear, Love one another.. Were humans, were alike no matter what background you came from, there should be no issues with colour, race, religion, status in the society Or what struggles we carry, theres no rich Or poor... theres no comparison Or judgement, its not all about me Or you it should be Us to Love one another, with respect and understanding... simple LOVE

@LeetheUnicorn

How do you feel about the song? Do you agree with the message being sent? Why or why not I think the songs is great! there are some strong powerful lyrics. Ive noticed that theres been alot of songs out like that coming out. I do agree with the message being sent. We come from the same planet and we all bleed red so why do we not like each other?

What do you think we can do as a community here on 7 cups to resolve conflict and issues we have with others in the community? How can we keep the peace on here? Be kind to each other and really be open to others opinions and thoughts. Treat each other with respect. "If you dont have anything nice to say dont say nothing at all." "Mind your own biscuts and life will be gravy."
