As a person of color... what do you think is the most difficult thing to manage in the work place? Do you feel like you have enough support? Or somewhere to turn when you need guidance?

@JamilaBrownPsyD

1)What do you think is the most difficult thing to manage in the work place?

Although you make your workload look easy, people may dismiss the amount of effort that it takes to get the job done effectively and correctly. Sometimes, they may believe that anyone can pick up the workload and move it forward, but it is just not that easy. They may often have unearned privilege in settings that automatically work to support them which may not always be the case for people of color.

2) Do you feel like you have enough support?

Not at my current workspace

3) Or somewhere to turn when you need guidance?

I find support outside of my work space from people in similiar fields and former colleagues

Thanks for posing this question

Thanks for answering! Yes i find that is a common problem.. that you really work hard to do the job well but then people assume it was easy for you and want to add more responsibility. Without a support system this cycle and lead to burn out and resentment.

It is always important that we identify and maintain a good support system.

I would paint myself orange, but that'd be racist to Trump.
