What all that means is the instant your art goes live on Twatter, any company looking to add it to a dataset for AI training can do it without asking your permission, & without compensating you for your work in any way.
And there isn't a d*mn thing you can do about it.

Yah, this sucks. I'm not an active artist online but I follow a lot of artists and feel for them as Twitter had one of the biggest art communities for a while. I should probably go delete my account at some point just out of caution though.
I'm on Blue Sky now and like it a lot. It's like Twitter but without so much negativity and without the site becoming as user-unfriendly as possible by the day. I hope to see more artists move and rebuild over there.
@JackalopesExist I was on Bluesky for almost a year...barely got any feedback. One or two "likes" on a piece, usually. If it got four likes then it was doing incredibly well. Meanwhile I managed to stay out of the political mudslinging most of the time. From what I saw, Bluesky is the leftist version of Twatter. The prevailing climate is left instead of right; the groupthink, ad hominem, sloppy arguments & half-assed reasoning, & sheer toxicity are quite the same.
Yeah...my Bluesky experience was nothing like yours. Finally killed my account there earlier this month.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with it 🙁 I don't blame you at all though. Most of my views are very left-leaning but sometimes the doom and negativity can be too much at the cost of my mental health, so I go to great length to limit my exposure to that side of BlueSky and I get my news from other sources that aren't so opinion-driven and short form (which I feel contributes to the toxicity.. like it's more about having a snappy comeback than a sound answer).
I know you likely don't want advice but I'll add this much just in case someone else reading this is interested in the pros and cons of the site:
What helped me was blocking a bunch of terms from my feed to really curate my space, and staying out of the "Discover" tab entirely because there's a lot in there that is either that kind of content I'm trying to avoid, or not relevant to my interests for other reasons. I started by searching up a lot of artists and creators I used to follow on Twitter then checking out people they shared posts of, and now my feed is pretty much to my liking and finding new ones to add by the day.
I do still hope the site picks up steam just to give people one more
alternative. So much mainstream social media is not artist or creator
friendly anymore and tbh, like Twitter a lot of it is downright hostile. I deactivated my art (popular photo sharing site) account some
time ago with AI being the nail in the coffin, and I won't touch (short
form video sharing site) with a 10-foot pole. Not getting any likes is
frustrating though, and Bluesky still being seen as niche probably doesn't
help.
