Not seeing improvement, what to do?

Hey everyone

First time posting so bare with me,

I've been drawing for a while, for about a year now and I do enjoy it but I find it stressful too honestly. For I just can't see any improvements. I'll be honest I haven't been drawing so much as I should so that's one reason as to why I'm not improving, however even when I draw I use reference I draw lightly first then harder. I'm not sure why I'm not approving , it really makes me sad because I really want to be good at it but I think I won't and I might as well give up. I just wish there was some place where I could meet other people who draw and maybe they could help me. But I can't afford lessons either so I'm kinda screwed honestly.

Any advice?

@MrShankly331 I am not an expert, and in any case we cannot give advice here or recommend places to meet other people.

But I notice you use a reference when you draw. Is it possible that using a reference is not the best method for you? If you search the Internet it's easy to find tutorials that have different approaches. For example, maybe drawing from sight might suit you better.
