I am bipolar. I have more episodes of depression than mania.
My menstrual period gets me very irritable and sensitive.
I would to continue meditating, exercising and reading affirmations related to my mental health
Tonight I did not sleep because at the last minute I realize I was missing one of my meds. I called the pharmacy and they were close.
I do Journaling from time t o time and I am reading a book called feeling good by David d. Burns. I recommended you all read it if you have not done so.

Hello Yroquis!
Thank you for checking in!
It's good that you are aware that some annoying feelings are due to your hormonal cycle, so you know they are natural and to be expected.
You have great coping and healing practices in place.
Congratulations on that!
"Feeling Good ", despite a somewhat silly title (maybe imposed by the publishing company), is by far one of the very best self-help books for Depression, with effective practices based on solid science, and recommended by mental health professionals as a complement to therapy.
Thank you for sharing your good experience with the book!
You might post a brief account of its contents and your personal experience on the "Resources for Depression" forum here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/DepressionSupport_52/ResourcesforDepression_214/
Thank you again for coming here to check in!
All the best!
Marcelo.
@HealingTalk
- How have you been feeling these days? drained and hopeless, like im spiraling rapidly
-
What main goals do you have for now and as far as you can see in the future? i just want to feel okay again
- What needs to be done, or habits be cultivated to achieve those goals? i need to find ways to work on myself, i dont even know where to start
Coming here is a great place to start. What kinds of things would be helpful to work on first? Maybe a support network?@danika2327
@bestVase7265 I think first and foremost I need to work on self regulating. Support groups on here seem like a decent place to start
Groups like this are really helpful. What kinds of things are you trying to self-regulate?@danika2327
@bestVase7265 Mostly trying to not let my emotions completely overtake me and form healthier coping mechanisms
Those are great steps. @danika2327
I have been feeling in a funk lately. Everything seems excruciating to do. I’m going through a career change but it’s been so hard to get motivated to start on my goals.
I want to become a tech developer, work my way up in a company, build a website geared toward sex health, and plenty of other projects building websites.
I need to finish my coding course, practice every day, start simple projects, and also I need to clean my house. I can’t work in a dirty house 😭
Sometimes when you have a career change like that the goals are harder to accomplish because they are a little scary. But it sounds like you are doing a good job in breaking them into manageable chunks. @understandingCat3085
@HealingTalk Hi
How are you doing?@loveisstrongerthanfear03
@bestVase7265 I'm ok, kind of anxious but its alright
Alright is usually good enough. Sorry about the anxiety though. @loveisstrongerthanfear03
@HealingTalk I've felt near tears and haven't really felt like doing much. I've just felt emotionally overwhelmed
That can be so hard. Is there anyone who you talk to regularly about it?@tealChestnut6477
@bestVase7265 sometimes it's hard for me to even be sure of how I'm feeling
I know that it is scary to even right it down. It is okay to right down that you are confused. Anything going through your head is fine. You are brave enough to do this. It can start you on a path to feeling better and keep you from being just caught in your own thoughts. You deserve to feel better. @tealChestnut6477
@bestVase7265 I've felt undeserving and just tired of feeling lousy and lonely
@bestVase7265 I just haven't really felt like I've had anyone I can tell
Start with your doctor. @tealChestnut6477
Just joined this community as I'm eminently qualified for membership...I don't say that to brag.
How am I feeling these days? Usually the best description for it is "meh". Been having episodes here & there. The weather alternating between 94°+ heat & pouring rain hasn't helped matters.
My only real goal is to keep my remaining appointments for this month. If I can finish one creative project I started earlier then that would be great.
@HealingTalk
- How have you been feeling these days? I have been stressed and feeling really depressed this past week. Started a new medicine for my depression and had to stop it after taking it for 3 day because it made me really sick. So, we are back to the drawing board.
-
What main goals do you have for now and as far as you can see in the future? My first goal is to find a medication that will help my depression. My second goal is to continue to work on healing from my traumatic childhood. To start to love my inner child.
- What needs to be done, or habits be cultivated to achieve those go To continue to be open and truthful about what has and is going on inside with my therapist and myself.
It can take a while to find the right meds for you. But I know setbacks can be hard. You do have the right attitude to conquer all of this. Keep trying and know that you have lots of cheerleaders here. @Judy7
@HealingTalk
I am doing somewhat better than I had. The noise in my head has quite down and my anxiety levels are lower.
I need to be able to talk about what is really going on but I clam up and avoid the main stressors.
Working on acceptance and recovery.
Every little bit of progress is worth it. The stuff that you still need to fix you can worry about another day. One key is not beating yourself up too much. @scarletPear1945
@HealingTalk i feel very low and depressed, unhappy. i need to try to get my antidepressant changed bc its not working anymore. goal is to become at peace with myself.
