Check in - Depression Support, July 11 to 15

Let's reflect on the past weekend and what it told us about our emotional health.
And what we expect for this week.
Today's check-in questions are:
- How have you been feeling these days?
- How was your weekend, overall?
- Which were your best times this weekend?
- Which were not-so-good times?
- What do you wish to achieve this week?
All questions are optional. You can add any comments you wish, as they come to your mind.
I look forward to your answers!

I'm confused about checking in. I clicked on the "click here to check in" post and it took me to a page that looks exactly like the first page.
@purpleTree4652
You arrived at the right place!
Feel free to write in a new post all you wish, as it comes to your mind!
Thank you for checking in!
@purpleTree4652
Purple! I'm so happy to spot you on the forums again, my friend! It's been a while since I've participated in threads, but it's always great to see a familiar face. Hope you've been doing well 😊💜
I feel like crap nothing is going right I am a failure wishing everything would just stop
That sounds so hard. Did you want to tell us more?@blueWater3982
@HealingTalk
I’m still not doing good. Been extremely depressed and definitely at my breaking point. Struggling with urges to SH and my ideations are back. I tried to be around people, but unfortunately, that has not been helpful.

Hello!
Thank you for checking in!
I am very sorry you have been feeling extremely depressed and at your breaking point.
I imagine how awful it is for you to feel everything is dark and you can't see anything good in the future.
In these times 7 Cups might help particularly participating in activities like Sharing Circles and other group support chats where you might vent and get support in real time, as well as the Support Room 24/7 chatroom. Also one-to-one chats.
This is the 7 Cups agenda of upcoming support group chats: https://www.7cups.com/home/communityCalendar.php
The "Support Room 24/7" chatroom is open continuously, as its name indicates.
This is the access link to Group Support chatrooms where you will find the "Support Room 24/7" and the Sharing Circle chatroom (at the times they take place).
https://www.7cups.com/connect/groupChatrooms.php
You might also consider getting an urgent consultation with your psychiatrist to adjust the medication.
If you are struggling with urges to SH, I suggest that you check this resources:
Alternatives to Self Harm:

7 Cups' SH self-help guide: https://www.7cups.com/self-harm/
A great app you can install on your phone to help deal with SH urges: https://calmharm.co.uk
And particularly if you have suicidal ideations, I strongly suggest that you call immediately a support hotline. In the United States, the phone number is 1-800-273-TALK(8255) or 1-888-628-9454 (SInce next Saturday it will become the 3-digit number 988.)
If you are from another country, please tell me and I will find the appropriate information.
Talking on the phone with a specialized counselor at those hotlines will be helpful even if you are not at the very peak of a crisis. They are trained, kind, caring people.
Just give it a try.
I hope you find some moments of peace these days.
And don't hesitate to come back here by replying to this post.
I wish you all the best.
Marcelo.
How have you been feeling these days?
I feel like garbage.
How was your weekend, overall?
Long and tiring.
Which were your best times this weekend?
I don't recall.
Which were not-so-good times?
I've been having trouble with the second hand futon my aunt got me. Its not wide enough as a couch, and it's painful to sleep on when its folded out into a bed, specifically at the center of the bed because some part of the futon is there and it hurts to lay on when I'm on my back, and laying on my stomach only leads to lots of lower back pain.
I was in bed ten minutes ago, but got out after my futon flipped and got me wedged between the wall and the rest of the futon. I'm too annoyed to try and sleep again so I'll stay up as long as I want.
What do you wish to achieve this week?
I just want to take my shot tomorrow and maybe hit the pharmacy to pick up a refill.
@integrityblues
Hello!
Thank you for checking in!
I am sorry you are feeling so bad, and your days are exhausting.
How bad that futon is so uncomfortable, particularly to sleep.
You definitely need a good bed to sleep. Sleeping well is fundamental for your health and your mood.
A bad sleep night due to an uncomfortable (even hurting in your case) bed will ruin your mood the next day.
I wish that you get a comfortable bed soon, one that promotes sound, resting and pleasant sleep, which will give you a better mood the next day.
Thank you again for checking in!
I wish you start feeling better these days.
All the best!
Marcelo.
Sending peace and a better night's sleep.@integrityblues

I'm trying. I've got an irritating cough and no cough drops or medicine to treat it at the moment. For the moment I'm staying awake and hoping that gargling with salt water is going to ease it. If that doesn't work I'll move on to warm tea with honey and buy cough drops tomorrow.
Hope that you feel better soon. For me the original Ricola cough drops are the most effective. @integrityblues
@bestVase7265
Oh yes, Ricola cough drops are my go to. I prefer the Ricola Dual Action ones that soothe the cough and relieve a sore throat with a liquid center.
I was able to get those (Peppermint flavor because they didn't have Polar Ice), some orange juice, and soup. I was able to take a very long nap today, and while I don't feel much better I at least think I'll get more sleep tonight.
It sounds like your cold is slowly improving which is good.@integrityblues
I didn't do so good today. I was dragging myself along, forcing myself to do stuff then crawling back inside.
I just need to rest more.
Rest is good. Remember that it takes a few days to recover. You are doing the best that you can. @integrityblues
@HealingTalk
I've been feeling okayish. Physically, my health could be better. Mentally, I've been all right, unpleasant dreams and my massive guilt complex notwithstanding. I wanted to go to my local bookshop this weekend, but it was closed due to the heat. That was my first time not being able to go in and browse books. *sob sob* But oh well. Hopefully it'll be open next time, and that the heat goes down.
Thanks for the check-in!
I hope that the bookstore opens soon. Glad to hear that mentally things have been a bit better. @TheAutumnWitch
@bestVase7265
Vase! It's good to see you again. Thanks for replying to me. 😊 How have you been?
I am doing pretty well. Summer is more relaxed than the school year. @TheAutumnWitch
@bestVase7265
I'm glad to hear that! I feel you; even though I'm still on hiatus from college due to my health, I still remember how waterlogged I was with assignments and exams. Those were stressful times. I hope you get lots of time to unwind and enjoy yourself ❤️
@bestVase7265
I’ll be sure to keep that in mind. Besides, I’m just a subject away from getting a degree in Spanish, not counting other topics I may take out of pure interest.
I have a friend who is on the teaching side of school, and she’s regaled me with several tales of the stress of grading, assigning and keeping track of her students. It’s given me a new admiration for teachers and professors. I have to admire your fortitude in your duties. 🤍
Glad to hear that you are so close to your degree. My favorite thing is cheering students on. @TheAutumnWitch
@bestVase7265
Aw, Vase! You’re so sweet. ☺️♥️ I’m glad I met you.
