as the title suggests. I have(had) a good circle of friends, but I am the only unmarried one left, and I am getting left behind. More and more I see FB post of stuff happening and I'm not invited. When I happen to catch someone on a text or something, I get an invite, but I feel if I'm not putting myself there, I am being forgotten. I have known many of these people since high school, some a bit less, but most of these freindships are 15 years. I am even a godfather to one of the kids. Recently though, I have been excluded more and more, and it hurts. I have looked at my behaviour, but it's been ok as I can see, and when I do get to hang out with everyone, it's hunky dory, but then I get nothing unless I invite myself. I feel sad that I am being left out like this. I wonder if it's to do with the kids ages, when they where little it was all good. Have I done something? I can't think of anything. I have no family, these guys have always been my rock, but I am losing them, for reasons I cannot gather, and when I brought it up with the closest of my freinds, they say I am imagining it, but I went 3 months without any contact from them before I once again called to see what was up. I keep looking at myself to see what I might have done, and as I said, I sounded some out, hoping for some honest feedback, but nothing. Not sure what more I can do, and I feel so alone now.

Hello. Thanks for sharing your worries with us. Feeling like you're being left behind can feel absolutely terrible. Although it's hard to explain your friends' behaviour, it can certainly feel like you're being excluded, isolated, forgotten or even disliked for some unknown reasons. All those feelings must be very hard for you to deal with and I am sorry you're experiencing it.

It is really difficult to say for sure, but sometimes getting married (and definitely when having kids), takes up most of an adult's free time. Sadly, that means having less time for friends too as family may take priority. Work all day then spend what little time they have with their spouse and kids in the evening. I noticed this with my friends with kids as well. They basically never agree to hang out at what used to be our usual time due to this reason, but this is just from my own experience. Hope you'll find some comfort on 7cups!
