Helping Someone with Depression
Nowadays, people talk more about mental health, but there is still a stigma attached to mental health. This stigma can stand in the way of someone seeking treatment. The support from family and friends plays an important role in helping someone with depression. While you can’t force anyone to seek treatment if they’re not ready, you can be open to learning about depression and, ultimately, make a difference in someone’s life.
I agree. Mental health had always been a vulnerable, fragile topic and many avoid because they are not educated about it. I had been misunderstood most of my childhood days, although I've eventually learned to let go and not blame my family and my "then" friends about who've become today. It's still buried in the back of my mind, that maybe, things (my life) would be different if my depression wasn't brushed off back then.
Now, I'm trying to share my experiences with those who are struggling with similar issues. Here in 7 Cups, as well as at my workplace.
Thank you for bringing this up~
