I feel lost

I have been going through the same cycle for almost 8 years now. I’ve been trying to get my bachelors degree for over 8 years but there’s always a problem. I was originally in Canada but due to financial difficulties, I filed for asylum and got deported and now I’m back in Nigeria at a university trying to complete my degree but due to covid 19, I lost a year again which prolonged my graduation year. I am trying to start up a business on the side but it doesn’t move. I started a new business and I fell into the hands of a scammer which has disabled all my accounts including personal Instagram account and any new accounts I create. This has been really mentally exhausting for me. I feel there’s no way out of these troubles. I don’t know how to better my life again. I filled so many appeal forms on Instagram to fix the issues but I get no response. My relationship on the other hand, my boyfriend is not a good listener/ communicator. He’s not emotionally intelligent. He’s very inconsistent, sometimes he’s there for me and other times he’s no where to be found. He keeps mentioning he just wants to be like a brother to me but his actions are the opposite. I met his whole family and he introduced me as his girlfriend. I’m so confused. I’ve tried to talk about it but he doesn’t really say anything that helps. He would rather let go than talk about it. My parents on the other hand are separated. My dad is comfortable but I don’t like how my mother, brother and sister are living. They live like poor people and my mum thinks they are comfortable. I know my siblings are not happy. I wish I can do something to

change that. I tried talking to my dad but my mum will never let him have the kids and the whole family members think the new wife is evil.

Hi! That does sound exhausting and overwhelming. How much of your degree to you have left to finish? It sounds like the main challenge is finances, to support you while you are studying?

It sounds like you feel unsure about your connection with your boyfriend. He is not emotionally supportive, and you are confused about his commitment/thoughts about your relationship? Does he help you out financially?

Plus on top of this your are worried about your siblings, and your parents not getting along must be stressful. 💛

You sound worried about your life and your family's life.

I say make yourself stable as best as you can so then you can help others I your family. So first try to focus on your job, ignore your boyfriend but whatever he does that makes you happy make him do that for you, if he doesn't then focus on your job or anything extra you can do to help you with your job and college, focus on trying to stop hackers, trying different emails or anything they can't easily hack.

Focus on stability. Then you can help others, as they should be trying to do that for themselves too. Everyone is dealing with this, you don't have to be the best, just try even if it's a small effort at least you are focusing on getting better until maybe you're more comfortable
