What do you hate about yourself?

Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.

Hate that when things start feeling like they are improving, i seem to sabotage them in some way inadvertently.

When i try to change something i just end up reverting back to the same behaviour no matter what i try.

I cant seem to figure out what my motivation is in life.. be it for loosing weight or getting better at my job.

Feel like a robot most of the time.

My brain. My awkwardness. My face. Everything.

@cosmicjellyfishqueen

I hate how competitive I am. I hate that I push myself so hard for just about everything. I hate my fear of failure. I hate my jealousy when someone else gets something that I want.

I'm trying to learn how to be kinder to myself.

I hate how much of a lost cause I am.

I talk about how much I want to get better and live long enough to actually do something worthwhile with my life, but yet I push away anyone who tries to help because of the constant nagging feeling that I don't deserve the help.

The fact I convince myself it's stupid and unnecessary to open up and talk about things that are troubling me because I feel like the problem is a lot less compared to what others are going through or even made up.

And also pushing people away because of the fear that they'll eventually realize they want nothing to do with me.

@cosmicjellyfishqueen

I hate that I'm alone.

I hate that feel worthless

I hate that I feel not enough

I hate that no matter what I do its just not the best, like I really tried, I really tried.

I hate that I can't call someone to talk when I need to.

I hate that most of my friends are doing better than me.

I hate that as I'm going through this depression I'm losing my appetite for food.

I hate that, I have nowhere to go.

I hate that I let things get to me when there's absolutely no reason to.

I hate that I listen more to the negative things about myself than the good.

I dislike how self-absorbed I am becoming due to prolonged isolation, and how disconnected I feel from others when I try to join meetings. I want to care and not need to pretend I understand when I don't..

@TrueRedRose96 that's why I try listening on here. I try to be the best listener I can be. I try to tell exactly what people need to hear to have hope and strenght and feel cared about. I feel it's easier to listen on here rather on a zoom meeting, and face to face used to be same, but cant do that

I hate that I ever wasted my time with people elbowing their way into my psyche and heart, who have no sense of boundaries and blatantly refuse to respect my wishes. I also wish I never doubted myself or wasted my time on narcissistic psychopaths, or friends who would quickly become flying monkeys for the attention and popularity
