What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
Sometimes I don't hate myself very much at all.
That's an improvement, considering that used to never be.
However, I still hate, and even completely loathe myself at times.
I hate my weakness, my timidity, and my ability to be easily knocked off my feet by my inability to cope with criticism.
I hate my people pleasing tendencies.
I hate how fearful I am of rejection.
I hate my past.
I hate my trauma.
I hate that dark side of myself that has manifested due to years of abuse.
I hate my anxiety disorder.
I hate my fear of intimacy.
I hate that I've put up so many walls.
I hate my paranoia.
I hate the flashbacks I have.
Most of all I hate knowing that I could be so much better and live up to my potential without all these awful things attached to me.
However, I'm trying everyday in some way or another to live to the best of my abilities
I hate the way I look
I hate they way I feel
I hate the way my brain works
I hate everthing that is me
but I'm working on that
I hate my name
I hate my look,my lack of self-confidence,and kinda hate i'm too different
My body, my hair and my additude
I hate my mind, I hate that i let uneccessary problems pile up , i hate that i put too much weight on my shoulder, i hate that i let little things ruin my whole entirre day , i hate that i dont want to do activites with my family, I hate that i just want to give up and I hate that its so hard for me to get my mind under control and live life happy ,
@carefulCurrent8337 I hate that im my own worse enemy in my head , i hate that i dont have the strength tto fight my demons and get well
I hate how much of a cowardly people pleaser I can be at times.
I hate how I push away good people and then feel lonely. I can't have it both ways. I can't stand at arms length because of fear of intimacy and then feel sorry for myself for feeling lonely. Makes me feel like an idiot.
I also hate the mental issues my traumatic past has caused. Enough said.
Hate is a strong word that I've decided to stop using, but the things I dislike-
1. How timid and afraid I can be. I just need to be confident and conquer the things I want to do.
2. How afraid I am of telling the people who care about me about my depression when I'm depressed.
3. My stomach and thighs. Some days I think they are fine though. I've come a LONG way and I'm proud that I'm not so self critical anymore.
4. How insecure I can be. Literally no one is judging me like I judge myself. Well at least if they are I'll probably never know so why does it matter?!
@niceKoala3875 Hey! I'm glad you feel that way! That's a huge step and I'm proud of you! Keep it up, it puts a smile on my face knowing that you're slowly embracing and loving yourself. Keep it up! Cheers! 😊
Allowing myself to miss being a daughter, allowing myself to feel broken still years after my traumas, not being able to set boundaries with my sister still
