What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
I hate my self hate. I hate how much I blame myself for everything. I hate how strongly I respond to any emotions. I hate that I can't accept compliments. I hate that I self sabotage. I hate that im a burden to everyone. I hate that I over think every little thing. I hate that I can't hate the people who've hurt me. I hate that I obsessively keep people's feelings in mind. I hate that I can't help the people I care about
@Madaraismyspiritanimal
I relate to this so much.
@Madaraismyspiritanimal that put a lot of what I've been feeling into words, thank you. I relate to it a lot.
@LolliKat
It's both sad and comforting to hear how many people feel similar.
I was kinda surprised by how much I ended up writing down.
@Madaraismyspiritanimal thank you for writing it down, it's much easier to express how you feel when you've seen others do the same. It's really hard and so many people are struggling with the same thing, but this personally helped me today, so thank you
@Madaraismyspiritanimal Hello that word HATE is a word I refrain from using !!!!! I dislike that Im always late, the harder I try the worse I get ! I do not like the way I talk at times I say it as I see it & not all is meant to be said !
I dislike that I shouldve been divorced years ago & the process is just beginning
@CyndisEar829
Yeah hate is a word I kinda only use in reference to myself. I seem unable of hating anyone but myself 🙃
@Madaraismyspiritanimal most of the times i hate my look, my belly and stuff. I want to look good. Im not okay with my body i guess.
@Madaraismyspiritanimal
But you seem to be a good person, it's something that matters more than anything
I hate that the voice in my head is my mom's and not my own.
I dont complain/question things enough, even when i know im in the right.
Second thing is probably the my worst fault. I can't tolerate anyone putting their hands on me, bumping me or generally getting in my face. Im quite passive, but grabbing me is a sure fire way to earn a death warrant....lol
I hate that even though I set aside the time and get pumped up and excited for it, I still end up not writing a single damn word.
I hate that I constantly have to measure out what I eat, that I can't focus on anything, that I just want to cry for no reason
I hate that I make my friends worry, that I'm not good enough at lying, that my fake smile is obviously fake
I hate that I show my writing, that I go "oh look at me!" and it's selfish but I do it
I hate how amazing I feel when someone says something good about me
And that I still don't believe them, or at least it's blasted hard
I hate that I'm me, and I can't love myself
I'm trying
But it's so blasted hard
I had to take a minute and think about this one and after a while I realized that I dont, I dont hate myself actually I even love it, i love myself and thats what i really deserve. No one deserves to hate on themselves, no one is perfect and I accept my imperfection and I love it. Period.
@quickwittedScarf146
Thank you. So much. A lot of people, myself included, needed to hear that. Thank you.
my inability to trust people sometimes. It takes a time for me to trust someone. And my empathicness idkw to call it but if I get a really bad vibe from someone yea that ain't happening. I hate my temper problem I mean I'm getting better but still there are days I have to remove myself before i lose my grip and do something i KNOW I'll regret
What I hate most about myself is how passive I have become. I know my spouse doesnt love me, yet I refuse to leave. Why cant I love myself more and just be done.
I would have to write a book😉😊😂...with plenty of sequels...😔😔😔
I hate how much I put myself down. How no matter how positive a situation is, I only see the negative. I bring my unhappiness into other people's lives and ruin potential frienships. But mostly I hate how afriad I am to express who I really am to anyone and everyone.
@hay09 i felt your post on so many levels. its okay for us to feel the way we feel about ourselves but we should always try and find the positivity and leave the toxicity because it will keep eating us alive. And even if its just a for a minute, it take steps for us to see that we are all worthy.
