What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
I sometimes hate my feelings. The bad ones. Like being jealous, my boyfriend hates this and I hate it too and I cannot embrace it somehow.
@sheax my boyfriend handles this very well. I get jealous a lot and he always explains to me who someone is and why they would never mean anything to him like i do. This all started because i explained to him that im not confident and i fret that he will leave me for someone who i think is better than me. Now that he knows this he is always veey comforting and understanding.
I hate that I can't control or stop my thoughts.
The fact that I am still alive is truly regrettable and a cruel joke by nature.
@Faure its better than damnation 😓
I hate that as Ive gotten older I seem to be hated and despised because I am too kind.
@selfdisciplinedRaspberries3170 I don't hate you😊 I love everyone
I hate that I seem to clingy to people and give them everything I have just for them to leave me.
I hate myself when my body doesnt do what my mind tell like 'i should finish my work, i should fold the clothes, i should cook, i should exercise,i should pray'
I hate that I can't seem to talk to others easily. I don't talk about my feelings or my life all that much. I also hate that I don't have the drive to be able to lose some weight.
I hate that I get mentally stuck when others put me down and I hate that I write out email or letter; then send them if I believe others are trying to ruin me socially. It wasn
What isn't there to hate about myself? My teachers' and mother's scolding about the use of such a spiteful word echoes in my head.
Hate: the way I look, the sound of my voice when I hear it from a recording, the way I stutter, the way I walk, the fact that I sweat too much when literally doing anything, my inability to appreciate anything for what it simply is, my small mindedness, letting others judgments and assments of me override what I think I know of myself, being moody or tempramental, giving in to peer pressure, standing up to people at the wrong opportunities where I should be more easy-going.
In short, almost everything about my personality. Whatever it is that is "me." I wish that person was better in every regard and yet when it comes to self-improvement there's nothing there. I'm just as low and stupid as I ever was.
In some weird brain crunching way, I hate that I hate myself. I think it's healthy to like yourself, maybe even better if you can find love for yourself.
In a sense, you're stuck with yourself. You might as well like that person since you probably won't be "getting away" from them anytime soon.
And yet here is that delusional fantasy, that I can somehow change who I fundamentally am - that I can be something more like my inner-self, my true self, my authentic version of me - and find anything other than disgust for who that person is. Choose to accept my choices and actions instead of loathe and despise them.
It's like I see an exit sign pointing toward a way out of self hatred and instead of walking toward where it's pointing I'm stuck, unable to move. Paralyzed by fear perhaps?
I hate that I let my anger control me . I lose control and can't stop myself and because of it my boyfriend has left me
