What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
The fact that I can't seem to be happy. I haven't felt any joy/real happiness in the past 4 months. I hate how I can't stand up for myself. I hate how when I talk its too soft. I get scared when I have to raise my voice. I hate that I'm not outgoing or sociable. Why can't I just be normal?
That I'm always looking at what other people have and wondering why I don't have that.
I hate that I went through unimaginable things and people think of me as one of those movies characters that had really messed up life. When I tell them about what I went through, they think it's too much for them to handle. They avoid me or drift away from me. I hate that my experiences make me feel insecure. Whilst I tend to open up very easily and leave myself vunerable, the result is always the same: they walk away thinking I'm mad of too much pain. which I understand because we all want fun relationships not something you have to fix or watch getting fixed. So I guess I hate that I had to go through things that I went through which is a huge part of me that I simply can't change.
My weight...

THERE YOU GO, A SOLUTION FOR YOUR PROBLEM! :)
That Im not good enough. That I'll never be enough. That I let people get me down. That I have no confidence in myself.
@Gert
I hate that i used to always feel like i will never be good enough and that sometimes, i still feel that way. But i guess that i have come to accept that they are the ones not good enough for me...in a manner of speaking...if i try real hard to convince myself of that.
Sorry I just needed to rant for a bit. Don't bother with this.
I hate that I feel like hating myself. I hate that I'm awkward and that I say the wrong thing or stutter a bit or stumble on the words. I hate that I'm so self-centered that I would think that anyone else would even think about me saying things poorly and I hate that I can't keep myself from imagining them laughing in their heads about what a dork I am all because I forgot a word or something. I hate that I talk too much. I hate that I can't seem to control myself when it comes to eating small and healthy portions. I hate that I keep spending money at the dining hall when I have food at my apartment and I can just wait a few more hours until I'm done with classes. I hate myself FOR hating myself and so many things that I'm sure just make me who I am. I hate that this logic does nothing to change my feelings.
@intelligentString I hate that you seem to possibly have issues with impulse control and are giving yourself such a hard time.
Things I hate about myself well for one my looks. I don't like how my eyes look. I hate my weight, I am always watching what I eat. I hate how I can't say what's on my mind without being stupid. I feel like I am trash. I hate that I ruin any chance of friends I ever had. So mostly I just hate myself.
I hate the feel if feeling worthless. Like i have nothing to do here. And that my only job that i have to do while im here that im doing it all wrong
I'm sorry. I hate how I read these posts and how I am able to relate to so many of them as they are describing awkwardness and struggle with social situations, the feeling of being powerless, losing the sense of control in life and motivation, yet at the same time knowing if I tried to talk to anyone here or elsewhere, it would feel just as awkward and empty as any other conversation I tried to have. I hate how I cannot connect to people, and how bitterness just piles up in me, leaving me with the impression that this place is nothing but a huge, metaphorical room for a crowd of lonely, troubled people all crying out at the same time, with no one ever really being heard.
I hate how easily I get sucked in by people.
